Associate Director, Device Development

Role: Associate Director leading development of combination drug delivery devices within BioMarin’s Technical Operations, focusing on advancing complex delivery technologies from inception through commercialization. Responsibilities: manage cross-functional project teams; develop and verify drug-device combination products; lead external vendor engagement; oversee process improvements and manufacturing quality; provide strategic updates to senior management; mentor team members; ensure compliance with global regulatory standards including ISO and medical device regulations. Requirements: Bachelor’s in engineering, life sciences, or related; 8+ years in parenteral combination product/device development and commercialization; experience with prefilled syringes, autoinjectors, large volume delivery systems; strong design controls, vendor management, and regulatory knowledge; effective cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred: experience with lyophilized drug delivery, working at biotech/pharma companies, leading device commercialization efforts, and familiarity with industry standards.
