Role: Lead AI Operations and Applied Innovation, focusing on managing AI workstreams, contractors, and technical delivery for applied AI initiatives within biopharma research and development. Responsibilities: oversee contractor onboarding, provide hands-on technical guidance for AI prototypes, models, data pipelines, and production systems; review architectures, code quality, and model evaluations; lead the development and deployment of AI solutions supporting research, clinical, regulatory, and enterprise needs; design scalable AI architectures, ensure responsible AI governance, and troubleshoot complex technical issues. Collaborate with product teams, scientists, regulatory, and IT stakeholders to prioritize high-impact AI applications; translate research concepts into scalable, regulatory-compliant solutions; and promote engineering excellence across AI platforms. Requirements: PhD in Computer Science, AI, ML, or related field with 4+ years, or MS with 8+ years, or BS with 10+ years of industry experience; expertise in AI/ML, Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, and cloud-based AI tools (AWS, Azure); strong programming skills in Python, experience with modern ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow); proven leadership in guiding technical teams and managing AI deployments in regulated environments. Preferred: experience in life sciences, drug development, clinical research, and contributions to open-source or patents. High-Value: focus on Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, responsible AI governance, and scalable cloud AI infrastructure in a regulated, clinical/biopharma context.
