Responsibilities
- Serve as domain owner for biologics data engineering; maintain awareness of projects, sources, systems, and data flows.
- Design and implement robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting experimental/process data (process historians, chromatography, ELNs, analytical instruments).
- Deliver analysis-ready datasets (process characterization models, data lineage, multivariate analytics, cross-site connectivity).
- Define/enforce data standards, metadata schemas, ontology mappings; ensure interoperability.
- Own/govern biologics system-of-record standards and ensure consistent configuration/data entry.
- Catalog processes, methods, instruments, and digital systems; map the data landscape.
- Build dashboards/reports; influence data capture strategy and reduce friction between experimentation and modeling.
- Mentor engineers; maintain/version pipeline code in GitHub with strong engineering practices.
- Partner with scientists and manufacturing teams to gather requirements; collaborate effectively.
Education Minimum Requirement
- Ph.D. (3+ years) or M.S. (5+ years) or B.S. (7+ years) in related fields (Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Computer/Data Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences).
Required Experience/Skills
- Proficient in Python and/or R; SQL; ETL/ELT pipelines in scientific/pharma contexts.
- Cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure/GCP); understanding of process models, multivariate/statistical tools.
- Experience defining/enforcing standards/metadata/ontologies; Git/GitHub.
- Lead technical initiatives, mentor, and deliver under timelines.
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Hands-on biologics process development (chromatography/filtration/purification/formulation) transitioning to data roles.
- Databricks/Delta Lake; visualization tools (Streamlit/Shiny/PowerBI/Spotfire/Tableau).
- Ontology frameworks (e.g., Allotrope, ISA-88, OPC-UA), DoE/process characterization (CPPs/CQAs), data lineage/traceability.
- Regulatory awareness (ICH Q8βQ12, validation lifecycle, comparability); lab automation, cross-site integration.
Compensation/Benefits
- Salary range: $129,000.00β$203,100.00. Eligible for annual bonus/long-term incentive (if applicable).
- Comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, retirement (401(k)), paid holidays, vacation, and compassionate/sick days.
