Associate Director, Data Architect
Responsibilities
- Own and govern integration platforms (Workato, Oracle Integration Cloud, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Azure Integration Services, Informatica).
- Define integration standards, best practices, APIs, and reusable frameworks.
- Oversee integration designs including real-time APIs, event-based messaging, ETL/ELT, and batch processes.
- Lead cross-functional integration projects supporting migrations, digital initiatives, and SaaS deployments.
- Translate business requirements into technical integration designs.
- Manage delivery timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Partner with vendors/implementation partners/stakeholders for high-quality delivery.
- Oversee daily operations (monitoring, issue resolution, performance tuning).
- Maintain integration catalogs, documentation, and interface inventories.
- Establish governance for API lifecycle management, change control, and versioning.
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks, data privacy regulations, and IT controls (SOX, GDPR).
- Implement authentication, authorization, and encryption standards.
- Manage integration vulnerabilities and cybersecurity best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and support assessments.
- Provide thought leadership on integration technologies (APIs, event-driven architecture, microservices, iPaaS).
- Collaborate to shape future-state architecture.
Qualifications / Skills
- 10+ years IT integrations, middleware, or enterprise architecture; 3–5 years leadership managing vendors/engineering/integration teams.
- Hands-on with modern integration solutions (Workato, OIC, MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure, etc.).
- Strong API management; REST/SOAP; event-driven architecture; cloud-based integrations.
- Proven delivery of complex enterprise integration projects.
- Security, authentication, and data governance understanding.
- Experience in regulated industries (life sciences, healthcare, finance, manufacturing).
- Familiarity with Oracle Fusion, Workday, Veeva Vault, Salesforce.
- Microservices, DevOps, CI/CD automation, cloud-native development.
- Bio-tech and commercial launch experience.
- BS in Information Systems/Computer Science/Engineering or related; MS preferred or equivalent.
- Certifications in integration platforms or cloud providers (Oracle, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal/customer service skills.
