Role Summary
The Associate Director, Corporate Development will serve the role of sourcing, evaluation, execution and, most importantly, alliance management of pharmaceutical partnerships across our various business units. The role involves market canvassing for licensure or M&A opportunities, quarterbacking due diligence and project management through BD, legal, and other functions, and acting as a Contract Implementation Lead for licensed products. The position focuses on out-licensing activities across Canada, Europe, and other developed markets, and in-licensing efforts for the US, reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Portfolio Management.
Responsibilities
- Acting as one of three key Contract Implementation Leads, the point person for a given product/partnership, with regular cross-functional check-ins across Finance, Legal, Commercial, R&D and BD.
- Driving new licensure/partnership transactions to conclusion internally by quarterbacking due diligence and managing the process through BD, legal and other functions.
- Canvasing the market and utilizing events such as DCAT and CPhI to identify opportunities for licensure or M&A; managing whom we meet and frequency of meetings during business trips.
- Creating strategic business intelligence reports tracking competitors across Gx, Biosimilars, and Specialty; assisting in managing executive leadership calendars for key industry conferences.
Additional Responsibilities
- Generate/increase access to accounts for field reps and IDN teams through partnerships with KOLs at medical systems, academic institutions, and Centers of Excellence.
- Pull-through of customer learnings from Amneal meetings and industry conferences via on-site account calls.
- Plan and manage national and regional disease-state and promotional exhibits/programs to raise brand awareness.
- Deliver initial office-based in-services to larger inaccessible medical systems as opportunities arise.
- Assist in navigating medical and promotional requirements with top customers for upcoming products.
- Secure and manage appointments/meeting schedules with top customers for Senior Leadership at national conferences.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Marketing or Business
- Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA)
- Experience: 8+ years in pharmaceutical alliance management; 8+ years with demonstrated track record of success in pharmaceutical partnerships
Skills
- Proven track record in developing and executing strategic sales plans for existing portfolios and planned new drug launches
- Ability to partner with multiple cross-functional departments to implement promotional plans and achieve annual sales targets
- Experience planning and managing budgets for national and regional promotional exhibits and sponsorships
- Proven ability to establish and foster high-level relationships with national-key opinion leaders
- Ability to travel for conferences and staffing across domestic and international venues (up to 50% occasional)
- Willingness to collaborate with field sales teams on portfolio exhibits and sales plans
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
