Role: Associate Director, Companion Diagnostics Strategy Lead within AbbVie's Precision Medicine team, focusing on developing and implementing global diagnostic strategies to support targeted therapy development and commercialization across oncology, immunology, and neuroscience. Responsibilities include leading diagnostic strategy development for projects, overseeing the outsourcing, validation, and clinical implementation of companion diagnostic assays (e.g., NGS, immunohistochemistry, FISH), and ensuring assay performance and regulatory compliance. The role involves guiding multidisciplinary teams, evaluating diagnostic technologies for scientific and clinical validity, and leading interactions with global health authorities. The candidate will serve as a biomarker testing expert, ensuring assay development aligns with project goals and technical standards, with particular emphasis on diagnostic technology assessment and validation. Requirements include a PhD in Science or related field with 8+ years of experience, expertise in companion diagnostic development and regulatory considerations, and strong leadership and communication skills. Experience in translational research, clinical trials, and familiarity with oncology biomarkers is preferred. The position offers flexibility for location (IL or MA) with potential travel, and involves collaboration with external diagnostic partners and internal project teams to drive innovation in precision medicine.
