Principal Trial Manager: Lead projects and initiatives to improve the quality and compliance of clinical data management functional areas in addition to individual Trial Manager responsibilities. Accountable for successful execution of the clinical data management strategy for one or more drug or vaccine trials; lead and/or represent data management (GDMS) in cross-functional initiatives.

Primary Activities:
- Lead special projects and initiatives within GDMS.
- Serve as SME, mentor, and trainer for data management, project management, leadership.
- Support training and development to promote Trial Manager end-to-end proficiency.
- Provide input to functional process owners (PO) to support process implementation.
- Promote consistency in database standards and support trial design/peer review.
- Identify, define, and implement improvements to data collection, data, and project management processes/tools.
- Support audits and inspections as needed.
- Lead complex risk management and functional/cross-functional special project management.
- Perform all required TM job description activities.

Education/Experience:
- B.A./B.S. (life sciences, computer science, or related), plus 6+ years Clinical Data Management (or mix with Clinical Research), including 3+ years using formal project management tools/processes.

Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrated accomplishments across all Study Life Cycle phases.
- Working knowledge of clinical development; knowledge of applicable regulations/policies.
- Work under pressure with flexibility; independent accountability.
- Coordinate others, drive decision-making; exceptional oral/written communication.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills; ability to coach/mentor.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with broad Quality/Compliance impact.
