Central Monitoring Associate Director is responsible for leading a cross-functional team of Central Monitoring Managers to de-risk assigned clinical studies and advance AbbVie clinical research and development programs. Accountable for service delivery results (quality, efficient, on-time, on-objective) and building/strengthening the talent pipeline.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and supervise Central Monitoring Managers delivering a portfolio of studies.
- Create an internal leadership talent pipeline; mentor/coaches team members.
- Foster a growth mindset through inclusive collaboration, innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute the central monitoring staffing strategy (quality, efficiency, on-time; aligned to company objectives).
- Recruit, hire, and train the front-line Central Monitoring Leadership team.
- Manage the performance cycle (expectations/objectives, timely feedback, address performance issues to resolution).
- Interact with and influence all levels of management and cross-functional teams to ensure high standards of output.
- Hybrid role: on-site T-TH; local to Lake County, IL; Irvine, CA; or Florham Park, NJ; work on-site 3 days/week.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (life sciences or risk-based discipline preferred).
- 10+ years clinically related experience or data trend analysis; 5+ years people management experience (remote preferred).
- RBQM-model or similar risk-based monitoring experience required.
- Experience with drug development, operations, risk management, decision-making, strategic execution.

Skills/Requirements:
- Leadership in cross-functional global teams; manage remote/virtual teams; coach in matrix environments.
- Analytic/critical thinking; anticipate/address issues; proactive contingency planning.
- Integrity/transparent feedback; strong English; lead meetings and presentations.
- Strong planning/organizational skills; proficiency with data analytics/visualization tools and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
