Description:
The Associate Director, Category Management – Commercial Data & Analytics will lead AbbVie’s Commercial Procurement team, overseeing the global Market Research, Data & Analytics category. Drive strategies for commercial data, analytics, and data services, optimizing data quality, access, and analytics streamlining for pharma-specific data (sales, patient, prescriber, claims, promotional analytics). Partner with Analytics & Performance Insights, IT, and cross-functional Procurement teams to improve financial, operational, and marketing outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:
- Lead category management professionals to create strategies for procurement of commercial data/analytics services.
- Build long-range category strategies for sourcing/managing sales data, physician/prescriber data, patient-level claims, promotional response, and market analytics.
- Improve data quality, unify access protocols, and streamline analytics workflows across business units.
- Build stakeholder relationships in data governance/technology; influence strategy.
- Improve enterprise collaboration with IT, R&D, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and related organizations.
- Lead supplier segmentation, performance management, governance; conduct QBRs and due diligence.
- Develop mitigation strategies to manage procurement risk.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing events (RFP/RFI/RFQ/Pricing Auctions) to onboard data/analytics vendors.
- Lead contract negotiations (MSAs, SOWs, JBPs) with legal support; ensure risk mitigation and compliance.
- Support commercial analytics innovation and transformation initiatives; leverage market intelligence.
- Mentor category managers/procurement specialists; implement cost reduction strategies in compliance with policies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (business/analytics/supply chain or related) or 8 years equivalent experience (master’s preferred).
- 5+ years in procurement/supply chain/category management with pharma/healthcare commercial data/analytics.
- Expertise managing supplier relationships and business reviews for data/analytics solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of pharma data types (sales, patient/claims, prescriber/physician, promotional impact, market research).
- Understanding of industry dynamics, cost structures, compliance/regulatory constraints.
- Strong executive communication and consensus-building; advanced project management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); relevant data analysis tools preferred.
- Self-motivated, resilient, collaborative in a fast-paced matrixed environment.
- Talent/team development experience strongly preferred.
