Role Summary

Associate Director-Capital Project Procurement at Lilly. Responsible for planning, sourcing, and driving strategies related to manufacturing capital, leading sourcing and purchasing goods and services to support capital projects, and applying the Lilly Strategic Sourcing Process to deliver value within timeframes. Focus on capital project delivery, supplier evaluation, contracting, and internal stakeholder management to reduce supply risk.

Responsibilities

  • Category management for engineering and construction services, automation, and capital equipment.
  • Lead requirements review, sourcing strategy development, due diligence, RFP oversight, contract negotiation and award, and contract management oversight.
  • Negotiate agreements to minimize costs and risks while achieving project objectives.
  • Collaborate with business clients to qualify suppliers, participate in supplier relationship management, spend analysis, market intelligence, and risk management.
  • Sourcing for major capital projects (> $5MM) at global manufacturing sites ($100MM - $300MM annually).
  • Lead procurement management for major/mega projects with high risk, resources, or complexity.
  • Assemble procurement strategy to ensure delivery of business objectives.
  • Lead supplier management and internal-external relationship facilitation.
  • Identify and implement cost/risk reduction opportunities of $5M or more annually.
  • Deliver project procurement activities with a focus on competitive bidding and sourcing of the most competitive sources.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor degree in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or related field; 7+ years in capital project experience; eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Preferred: Experience sourcing engineering and construction services, capital equipment; commissioning/qualification experience; mega capital project support; strong communication skills; qualifications such as CIPS, ISM, or equivalent; proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP/Ariba.
