Responsibilities:
- Drive end-to-end strategic innovation, communication, and execution for Allergan Aesthetics portfolio and assets with R&D and Commercial leadership (strategic planning, scenario evaluation, data-driven problem solving across drug and aesthetic medical device development).
- Support R&D strategy processes, including annual franchise strategy reviews and Strategy Long Range Plans, therapeutic area strategy and pipeline reviews, and high-priority Asset Strategy Team support; manage projects and generate/communicate strategic insights.
- Lead mission-critical strategic initiatives, including:
- R&D competitive intelligence (evidence-based assessments, ELT scientific communications, monitoring competitor activity).
- Strategic decision support for key pipeline assets (governance deck development, business case pressure-testing, milestone storytelling).
- Develop and operationalize R&D pipeline metrics and KPIs for enterprise reporting (data collection, stakeholder alignment, dashboard/visualization design).
- Conduct competitive benchmarking analyses and synthesize recommendations for R&D leadership.
- Provide rapid-response support for high-visibility R&D priorities.
- Contribute modules within cross-functional initiatives and distill pragmatic recommendations.
- Communicate strategy at executive forums.
- Monitor and prioritize external enterprise trends and inform preparedness/response.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent required; advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.
- 5+ years with Bachelor’s, 3+ with Masters, 2+ with PhD.
- 2+ years at a top-tier management consulting company highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills; comfortable leading meetings with senior management.
- Experience managing large projects in a complex matrixed pharmaceutical organization (consultant or internal cross-functional lead).
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior leadership for alignment and decision-making.
- Capability building/change management via empathy and coaching.
- Highly collaborative; drive and passion to advance AbbVie’s mission.
