Purpose
- Associate Director, Brand Partnerships Communications will shape and execute integrated partnership and communications initiatives that elevate AbbVieโ€™s brand, strengthen stakeholder connections, and drive business objectives. Create earned media opportunities and compelling narratives for corporate brand partnerships across priority audiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead internal and external communications for key partnership moments (announcements, activations, major milestones).
- Develop and implement proactive earned media strategies tied to corporate partnerships, sponsorships, special events, and enterprise initiatives.
- Partner with Corporate Brand Partnerships (and agency/properties) on annual planning and activation (e.g., Chicago Cubs, Major League Baseball, and future partners).
- Create short- and long-term storytelling strategies connecting partnerships to reputation and business goals for employees and external audiences.
- Identify and amplify stories/messages through earned media, social media, influencers, executive communications, and activations.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists/media partners and external stakeholders.
- Track initiatives, contribute to leadership materials, and advise on additional proactive enterprise storytelling opportunities.

Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in communications, business, journalism, or related field.
- 10+ years in communications and media relations (agency or in-house) driving external communications for large global companies.
- Healthcare/pharmaceutical experience a plus.
- Sports/entertainment vertical experience a plus.
- Ability to develop materials for senior leaders; influence without authority in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, attention to detail; strong business judgment; effective management; proactive, highly organized.
