Role Summary

The Associate Director, Brand Field Trainer is responsible for creating, maintaining and implementing a field-based training continuum for all current & future Acadia Neuropsychiatry products and indications. This individual collaborates with the Business Effectiveness Team, marketing, and field leadership to assess organizational needs, support key marketing tactics, elevate disease state and product expertise, and weave these into the Customer Engagement Model. Training programs span onboarding to ongoing learning for the commercial field, including online content and workshops for National and Regional Sales Meetings. Core responsibilities require cross-functional collaboration and strong project management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the brand training curriculum from onboarding, new hire training, advanced training, to ongoing learning for field commercial employees.
  • Facilitate virtual or live training for new hires, manager train-the-trainers, and support NSM/POA live training or field certifications.
  • Develop, update, and implement training modules, content, and programs for field commercial employees.
  • Create training materials (study guides, home study materials, assessments, FAQs, competitive overviews) and coordinate with leadership and HR on follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop training and communications that support brand strategy.
  • Manage contracts and expenses with external consultants and vendors within budget.
  • Lead content development and maintain the Learning Management System, including modules and live workshop content for new hires.
  • Oversee approval of training materials through the MLR process and attend MLR meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures affecting commercial field activities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather insights and promote a unified Acadia model.
  • Conduct quarterly field rides to observe field tactics and identify opportunities to improve selling skills and brand execution.
  • Provide training insights to brand planning, tactical planning, and quarterly business reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (science or business preferred) or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Sales and Learning & Development, with at least 2 years in a training role.
  • Focus on Neurology, Psychiatry, Long-Term Care, and Primary Care strongly preferred.
  • Prior pharmaceutical sales experience and first-line pharmaceutical/biotech sales management experience.
  • Vendor and contract management experience; experience with product launches and New Hire Training plans is highly desired.

Skills

  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to create effective learning and development materials.
  • Application of adult learning principles.
  • Experience facilitating training for small and large audiences in virtual or live settings.
  • Experience submitting and managing content for MLR approval.
  • Experience managing contracts and expenses with external vendors within budgetary guidelines.
  • Experience launching a product in Sales, Managed Markets, or Learning & Development is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self-motivated and capable of meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management, organization, initiative, and self-motivation.
  • Integrity and ability to work in a regulated environment and handle confidential information.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills with senior leadership; ability to align resources and activities to goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% overnight.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (science or business preferred) or equivalent; MBA preferred.
