Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the Hardware, I&C, and Automation site support team (performance reviews and development plans).
- Manage Automation technology to deliver Automation team milestones and projects.
- Lead staffing activities including recruiting, resource planning, and succession planning.
- Coordinate process validation work.
- Review and monitor financial performance; work to meet targets.
- Participate in and support the Automation Engineering Operations and Training Program.
- Develop project/program/initiatives execution metrics with the analytics team.
- Demonstrate commitment to environmental, health, and safety.
- Identify, track, and report key indicators of functional performance.
- Ensure team operates in a state of compliance.
- Set and reinforce standards for rigor in automation work products (with automation and compliance consultants).
- Ensure completion of critical assignments with appropriate monitoring and reporting.
- Instill teamwork; demonstrate key interpersonal skills.
- Ensure appropriate technical depth and rigor with departmental deliverables.
- Make independent decisions and network appropriately; function as a leader in management teams.

Basic Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering and 10 years’ experience in Site Support, Hardware Instrumentation, and Project/Portfolio management (preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing).
- Experience leading major projects from design through development, commissioning, and qualification.

Additional Preferences
- Experience designing/developing/commissioning/qualifying control and network panels; loop checks and IQ in highly automated greenfield manufacturing.
- Experience with SCADA, DCS, MES, LIMS, QMS, and site historian systems (e.g., DeltaV, Rockwell, Syncade, Veeva, OSI PI).
- Experience building an operational site support structure for day-to-day plant operations.
- Experience in group leadership for running the plant (participation in management sub-teams).
- Experience applying organizational models through recruiting and retention.
