Responsibilities
- Assist in development of the SOX Audit Plan; coordinate with external auditors and Global Process Owners; support control changes via the Governance & Compliance Lead; assist audit teams during fieldwork; report SOX audit findings to senior leaders; also assist with non-SOX audits.
- SOX scoping: Develop and maintain the SOX Audit Plan (entities/processes subject to MCAAS testing); execute quarterly scoping reviews to ensure testing coverage aligns with MCAAS guidelines and evolving business changes.
- Audit planning and execution oversight: Support audit teams during fieldwork (consistent testing attributes, timely deficiency vetting, alignment on process improvements); maintain AuditBoard accuracy for all control and testing documentation.
- Stakeholder collaboration/external auditor engagement: Partner with the SOX IT team on control impacts of new system implementations and general control environment changes; discuss control changes/significant findings with GPOs, Governance & Compliance leads, and PwC; serve as MCAAS liaison to PwC.
- Team leadership/skill development: Lead/coach/train a small team during audits; provide technical guidance on policies, control design, testing methodology, and reporting.
- Reporting/analytics/continuous improvement: Produce senior leadership reporting on deficiency trends and results; streamline testing, improve efficiencies, implement best practices; participate in incident response and control impact assessments.
- Execute Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Audits: Approx. four per year; lead small teams through financial and compliance audits/assessments across divisions to evaluate internal controls and deliver value-added audit reports.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in accounting.
Required experience
- 7+ years technical accounting experience (preferably Big 4).
- Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience.
- Certified Public Accountant.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and rigid deadlines.
- Travel up to 25% for assigned domestic/international testing; driving required for certain domestic audits.
