Role Summary

The Associate Director, Agile Sourcing Lead will be part of a team responsible for delivering source-to-contract operations across Global Products Development & Supply (GPS) categories, focusing on External Manufacturing, Logistics, Capital/Engineering, Product Development, and Direct Materials. The role leads a team to ensure effective sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and purchasing activities to optimize buying power and procurement outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of professionals in support of source-to-contract operations across the GPS categories.
  • Assist direct reports with professional development planning and enable flexibility across Agile Sourcing to foster cross-functional proficiencies.
  • Assist in creating training materials leveraging knowledge of contract terms, negotiation practices, and BMS SOPs.
  • Provide proactive feedback and hands-on leadership to the team.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing events (RFI/RFP): prepare and solicit competitive bids, evaluate offerings, assess supplier information, conduct negotiations, and communicate decisions externally.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle from deal understanding to drafting, negotiation, redlines, finalization, distribution, signatures, and storage.
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders, procurement partners, and SMEs (legal, Cybersecurity/IT, Data Privacy, Quality, etc.) to incorporate feedback for timely, compliant contracting.
  • Maintain awareness of pre-contracting steps and BMS policies related to contracts.
  • Act as escalation point within the Agile Sourcing team for guidance on substantive sourcing and contracting issues.
  • Assist in reviewing team performance and identify trends for continuous improvement to improve operational effectiveness and process simplification.
  • Collaborate with procurement and legal to improve contracting processes, update templates, and develop negotiation guidance.
  • Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives within procurement to strengthen contracting and sourcing outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education of a B.S./B.A. is required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in GPS category procurement, sourcing, and contracting, with familiarity of Master Services Agreements, SaaS Agreements, and Software License Agreements.
  • Expertise in procurement processes, agreement management, financial/market/supplier analysis, supplier diversity and management, technology utilization, strategic planning, and integrated supply chain.
  • Expertise in contract construction and terms and conditions, with working knowledge of buy-side contracts in pharma/biotech.
  • Adaptability in ambiguous, complex environments with ability to engage and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management technology (e.g., Icertis).
