Role Summary

Associate Data Scientist I at AbbVie, working within the Fusion Team to apply AI/ML techniques to clinical data operations and pharmaceutical research. Collaborates with technology and business groups to deliver reliable, reproducible solutions under the direction of more senior leaders. Hybrid role based in Lake County, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions to solve complex clinical and pharmaceutical challenges
  • Develop and maintain backend systems using FastAPI for robust data processing pipelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical scientists, IT, and business stakeholders
  • Lead multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional quality standards
  • Translate complex technical concepts into accessible insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and methodologies relevant to pharmaceutical research
  • Independently design and develop business technology solutions to answer scientific or business questions through integration, visualization, and analysis of data. Demonstrate proficiency across a range of technologies related to storage, transfer, integration, visualization, and analysis of large and complex data sets.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business, and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions
  • Effectively organize and present project objectives and progress. Contribute to technical publications and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field
  • Hands-on experience using large language models and machine learning algorithms
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
