Associate Chemist - Toxicology

Role: Associate Chemist in Laboratory Toxicology at Labcorp, focusing on LC/MS data analysis and instrument maintenance. Responsibilities: review, certify, and upload analytical data; verify calibration and quality controls; perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment; conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses; develop new analytical procedures; evaluate data accuracy; guide technical staff; train new employees; and manage supply inventory. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology; 2+ years of clinical lab testing experience or MLS certification; proficiency with laboratory information systems; attention to detail and strong communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams; pass color vision tests; flexible for overtime/shifts. Preferred: 3+ months clinical testing experience; ASCP or AMT certification. High-value: toxicology testing, LC/MS instrumentation, routine and complex analytical procedures, data verification, calibration, quality control, and troubleshooting. Work setup: on-site in Burlington, NC; schedule Thursday-Sunday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm; flexibility for overtime and shift adjustments.
