Role Summary
Associate Business Systems Consultant (Assoc. BSC) supporting the IR Development Sciences team. You will own IT systems for R&D Development Sciences and provide strategic technology guidance to enable business objectives across multiple sites. You will develop plans to deliver technological capabilities and serve as a liaison between business teams and IT to ensure successful implementations. This role offers opportunities to grow your business-technology skills.
Responsibilities
- Providing direct partnership and IT system ownership in support of stakeholders in R&D Development Sciences Chemical Manufacturing Control (CMC), Analytical R&D (ARD), Drug Product Development (DPD), and Process R&D (PRD) across multiple sites.
- Providing strategic technology consultation, guidance, and leadership (where appropriate) for business/domain initiatives.
- Developing and leading plans necessary to deliver the technological capabilities needed to enable business objectives.
- Analyzing business processes; eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements; identifying, creating proposals, and presenting alternative solutions, assessing feasibility and making recommendations; coordinating/testing/verification/validation of requirements.
Skills
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Work with business teams to understand specific business processes, drivers, and strategies across multiple functions; identify, prioritize and communicate needs and opportunities for business process improvement enabled via technology.
- Use appropriate tools to collect, correlate and analyze data; record and maintain technical system and SDLC documentation and training materials. Conduct testing and develop preliminary findings. Adhere to system standards and procedures.
- Manage projects according to scope and milestones; determine approach to problems within scope; guide the efforts of technical teams.
- Proactively investigate and understand capabilities of existing systems and technologies; explore emerging internal and external technologies and connect these capabilities to address business needs.
- Anticipate and mitigate project/program risks; resolve changes to scope, issues and risks affecting large-scale projects/programs with business partners and management.
- Anticipate and respond to current and emerging business needs; evaluate alternative IT solutions using standard methodologies and best practices.
- Proactively seek strategic opportunities for applying IT capabilities across multiple areas; provide strategic analyses to executives and manage projects/programs.
- Build collaborative relationships and interact effectively with business and/or technology teams; act as a liaison and SME; provide information to business teams.
- Consistently demonstrate leadership attributes and communicate problems in terms understandable to BTS leadership and end users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years’ technical experience; Master’s degree plus 5 years’ experience; PhD plus 0 years’ experience.
- IT Application ownership, system implementation and requirements gathering working in a Business Systems analysis or consulting capacity.
- Experience with external inspection teams to facilitate audits, collaborate to provide documentation, and address findings related to business applications.
- Experience in GxP or validated system, project management tools such as Jira, and data analytics.
- Experience in Vendor Relationship management.
- Scientific or healthcare related background.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years’ technical experience; Master’s degree plus 5 years’ experience; PhD plus 0 years’ experience.
