Assoc Director, IT Systems Engineering

Role: Lead architecture and engineering for Gilead's enterprise AI and data platform, focusing on self-serve data, AI, and agentic AI strategies. Responsibilities: define target-state architecture aligned with enterprise goals and data mesh principles; establish standards for data products, semantic layers, AI gateways, and governance; lead scalable, secure platform infrastructure on AWS and Databricks; oversee engineering of agentic AI stack, implement best practices, and ensure operational excellence; contribute to platform product roadmap, manage vendor partnerships, and track key adoption metrics. Requirements: 10+ years in platform or data engineering, including 3+ years leading teams; deep expertise with AWS data/AI services, Databricks, and building agentic AI systems; proficiency in SQL, Python, distributed systems, cloud security, and GxP/regulatory environments. Preferred: experience in biopharma or regulated domains, data mesh architectures, semantic tech, and platform product management; AWS Solutions Architect or Databricks certifications.
