Responsibilities:
- Lead portfolio management for early-stage R&D programs (discovery through IND/Ph1), owning an integrated Therapeutic Area (TA) portfolio view (timing, milestones, risks, dependencies).
- Translate portfolio strategy into actionable plans and execution.
- Prepare regular data-driven reports/presentations for senior management and governance committees.
- Capture and communicate portfolio metrics (resources, site distribution, development phases) into actionable insights.
- Provide organizational/process expertise to support discovery, development, and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with functional and support teams (and alliance partners if applicable) to deliver projects/portfolio.
- Manage/administrate strategic cross-functional/cross-divisional governance or alliance committees.
- Surface portfolio risks, trade-offs, and opportunities; drive stakeholder alignment.
- Mentor/coach Specialist/Senior Specialist project/portfolio managers.
- Partner with Finance on resource/budget planning; partner with IT/PMO to maintain portfolio tools/dashboards.
- Identify and implement best practices in portfolio management and governance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree required (scientific/applied concentration strongly preferred).
- 5+ years in project/portfolio management or related role.
- Demonstrated leadership/ethics; influence in highly matrixed environments; navigate ambiguity; strong collaboration and communication.
Preferred:
- MS/PhD/MBA; pharma/biotech experience (discovery/preclinical/early development).
- PMP/PfMP and/or formal training in project/portfolio management.
Travel: 5β10%.
