Assoc. Dir., Engineering

Role: Associate Director Estimator supporting capital projects in the biopharma industry, focusing on cost estimation, planning, and benchmarking from feasibility through startup. Responsibilities: lead estimation efforts for projects up to $1B+ TIC, prepare comprehensive cost estimates, validate third-party estimates, perform risk analysis, project cost trending, and support project benchmarking and database maintenance. Provide mentorship within the estimating team and collaborate with procurement and project teams on market conditions and cost management. Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred), 10+ years in estimating, project control, or capital management within pharma/biotech across various modalities (drug substance, drug product, lab, large/small molecules), and all business lines (R&D, Human/Animal Health). Skills: strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities; proficiency in Excel and project cost management tools; ability to travel up to 30%. Preferred: AI fluency, Lean methodologies, Monte Carlo risk analysis, and experience with estimating systems. Work setup: hybrid, with remote work flexibility and regional travel.
