Associate Director- Clinical Development (MD) (Foster City)

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific/clinical expertise to cross-functional teams to support clinical development deliverables and timelines.
- Contribute to development/review of clinical trial protocols, clinical study reports, and responses to health authority inquiries.
- Provide ongoing medical monitoring for clinical trials (e.g., eligibility criteria assessment, toxicity management, drug safety surveillance).
- Contribute to preparation/review of regulatory documents, investigator brochures, and development plans.
- Collect, review, and interpret clinical data for internal analysis and decision-making.
- Manage preparation/review of data listings, summary tables, study results, and scientific presentations.
- Present scientific/clinical information at investigator meetings, internal forums, and scientific conferences.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Gilead SOPs.

Basic Qualifications:
- MD/DO or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Training/experience in Hepatology (hepatitis B and/or D), Infectious Diseases, Immunology, or related specialty.
- Exposure to clinical research (academic, fellowship, investigator-initiated, translational, or industry-sponsored).
- Interest in clinical drug development and trial design.
- Experience presenting and/or publishing scholarly clinical/scientific data.
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to learn quickly; adaptability; manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical/critical thinking; foundational understanding of drug development/clinical research (or strong interest).
- Familiarity with FDA/EMA, ICH, and GCP preferred (not required).
- Strong scientific/medical knowledge; excellent communication/presentation/organizational skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally; willingness/ability to travel as needed.

Benefits/Compensation:
- Salary range: $226,185.00–$292,710.00. May be eligible for discretionary bonus, stock-based incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
