Role Summary

In this role you will collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams and vendors to ensure process control systems for new and existing equipment meet local and global standards. You will work with equipment suppliers and Schneider to specify field instrument assemblies and sensors, ensuring devices can connect to and be used in local manufacturing while meeting requirements from both people and equipment perspectives, and acting as a gatekeeper for standards. Partnering with other departments such as QC and Warehouse, you will gather requirements (for example sensor temperature ranges) to guide equipment selection. You will execute qualification activities for FMS/BMS systems in GMP areas, participate in protocol development and execute qualification protocols as required, and support periodic system evaluations, change requests and deviation handling that are critical to maintaining our license to operate.

  • Schedule & execute plans in coordination with operations schedules
  • Own self-development & initiative to build an understanding of automation applications & systems
  • Adhere to the automation standards & implement the necessary changes to the automation-related specifications & maintenance plans
  • Support Engineering Technicians.
  • Assist in coaching & training colleagues & stakeholders

  • Assist in implementing process changes & investigating process deviations
  • Work closely with operations to identify process gaps & focus on continuous improvement
  • Support corporate, PS , local IT, & local stakeholder initiatives & projects

  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

Additional Requirements

Travel up to 10% of the time. Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field of study from an accredited university
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university with two years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, and/or packaging systems
  • Preferred: High School Degree/GED with four years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, and/or packaging systems
  • Preferred: Minimum of two years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, and/or packaging systems
  • Preferred: Technical/Process/Functional knowledge
  • Preferred: Knowledgeable in PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL (databases), Historian, general controls a plus
  • Preferred: Organization/Planning: Knowledge in planning/organization, follow-up & completion a plus

Skills

  • FMS/BMS software interfaces; alarm and report configuration
