The Assistant, In Vivo Research will perform basic study support activities, as well as clerical and administrative duties to support In Vivo Pharmacology projects and research.
Responsibilities:
- Label tubes, cassettes, and other materials for functions based on study files
- Assist in the preparation and review of files for In Vivo studies
- Use Excel to record tube and material information into study files
- Proactively monitor inventory levels and order stock in preparation or as requested
- Identify new and/or replacement products as requested
- Prepare buffer solutions, fixatives, and/or dosing solutions
- Complete general laboratory cleaning, organization, and/or general lab maintenance
- Communicate with study leads, teammates, or other cross-functions as needed
- May train other Assistants and peers
- May provide support to various areas within the In Vivo Pharmacology team
- Assist with cage wash, filling cages, cage cleaning, or similar duties
- Sort and weigh samples/tubes
- Assist with body weights and/or preparation for dosing/surgery
- Centrifuge and aliquot blood samples
- Prepare dosing syringes
- Update animal information based on study design and make cage cards
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word)
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize; strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate to all levels; adapt to changes; work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of In Vivo procedures and practices
Preferred:
- Associateβs degree with some relevant experience (or High School Diploma + 3+ years in a laboratory setting)
- Background in animal husbandry, restraint, and handling
- Commitment to quality care of laboratory animals
Compensation/Benefits:
- California pay range: $50,000 USD - $55,000 USD
- Competitive salaries and an excellent benefit package
