Serves as the enterprise leader who is the asset’s primary point of contact for PCM Governance bodies and senior management.
  • Leads the effort to create, articulate, and gain endorsement of an integrated cross-functional strategy for all aspects of product development and commercialization, consistent with PCM Governance and the Therapeutic Area Strategy Council (TASC). Maintains primary responsibility for the ensuing deliverables, including a functionally aligned asset and brand strategy.
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships with governance team members and executives to enable timely, multi-directional, and comprehensive interactions with PCM Governance at milestones and as significant program issues or opportunities arise.
  • Reviews and analyzes emerging data objectively to lead the AST toward recommendations that highlight opportunities, address potential risks, and provide appropriate mitigations.
  • Understands the role and value of each function on the team, solicits timely input, ensures asset resources within budget, and champions requests for incremental resources when appropriate. Coordinates with supporting teams to ensure plans align with asset and brand strategy.
  • Ensures the AST continually validates the program’s viability from scientific and commercial perspectives. Develops clear Go/No-Go decision points and presents data to PCM Governance and senior management.
  • Establishes close, ongoing ties with all team members and supporting teams to empower, delegate, and align. Maintains a function-neutral prioritization approach, coaches and mentors team members, and enables the AST to focus on strategy and decision-making.
  • Represents the AST in external engagements (e.g., Advisory Boards, regulatory interactions) when cross-functional contributions are required. Communicates clearly with governance bodies.
  • Keeps abreast of competitive environment, industry trends, and emerging technology to augment expertise in drug development and the pharmaceutical industry.
