Summary:
The Area Sales Director will lead a team of Region Managers and select Clinical Educators to execute the Pacira business sales strategy and tactics, meeting or exceeding sales revenue goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop area sales plan aligned with company strategic sales plan and revenue goals.
- Identify new business development opportunities; develop lead creation strategies/processes.
- Develop and implement a structured sales process; meet company sales metrics.
- Build relationships and a strong customer base across key sales channels.
- Provide strategic partnerships with hospital and Health Care Systems.
- Develop repeat and new business via industry associations, networking, client revitalization, and outreach.
- Collaborate across the organization (Marketing, Medical, etc.) and with external partners.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on forecasting, supplier experience feedback, product performance/trends for product selection, inventory management, and delivery.
- Lead, coach, counsel, and develop Managers and SAS’s; provide consistent meaningful feedback.
- Execute sales training and best practices for the sales force.
- Discover, develop, and retain talent.
- Provide work direction to regional management team to meet sales objectives.
- Drive sales growth and profit objectives; deploy/manage resources to achieve objectives.
- Communicate vision, mission, and objectives.
- Use Performance Management Process to measure progress, deliver business results, and model leadership.
Market Responsibility:
- Hospitals; Surgery Centers; Physician and Surgeon Providers; Distributors and other 1099 channels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related.
- MBA preferred.
- 5+ years people management experience required.
- 2+ years second-line leadership (managing people managers) preferred.
- 10+ years medical/bio/pharmaceutical sales experience.
- Prior pain product experience preferred.
- Demonstrated track record driving revenue growth.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills; communicate effectively; maintain customer/sales rep relationships.
- Strong verbal and written English communication.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build long-term customer/partner relationships.
- Financially literate; business acumen; profit conscious.
- Ability to travel (auto and plane) as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Physical/Work Environment (high level):
