Role Summary

Area Rare Cardiac Specialist (ARCS) targets health care providers in general cardiology across IDN/Health Systems and group practice accounts to execute ATTR-CM disease awareness. The role partners with the Cardiac Account Specialist (CAS) to ensure seamless customer interactions throughout the patient journey and will accelerate new patient starts through increased disease-state awareness in the assigned territories. The ARCS reports to the Area Business Manager and will operate with strong business acumen within the local healthcare ecosystem, utilizing approved marketing resources while complying with company policies. Location: Raleigh, NC area (territories: Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte, Wilmington).

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize customer opportunities and projects to maximize impact; inform decisions using all available data and stakeholder input per ABM direction.
  • Develop territory business objectives and define key performance metrics aligned to brand objectives; meet or exceed goals via prioritized customer target lists.
  • Maintain active customer profiles, plans, and data sets using company planning resources.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine call planning to optimize schedule based on local territory factors such as access, geographic span, collaborative commitments, and customer alerts.
  • Utilize advanced selling skills and approaches (e.g., PSSF); understand complex selling environments and tailor messaging to customer needs; educate customers on ATTR-CM and related diagnostic procedures; demonstrate brand value and implement approved marketing programs.
  • Partner with customers to connect Pfizer resources and services to better meet patient needs; grow and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders and decision makers; develop in-depth understanding of local market factors and the ATTR-CM disease area.
  • Coordinate with CAS, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to elevate the customer experience; overlay ARCS with CAS target lists and Rare Disease ROC as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate business acumen by gathering customer insights and applying market data to anticipate opportunities and threats; prioritize resource utilization to meet customer needs.
  • Engage in professional development, be coachable, and seek opportunities to add value in current assignments.
  • Collaborate with CAS and HQ to deliver resources to local customers; share insights to drive innovation and provide candid, actionable feedback; ensure compliant use of promotional materials.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience.
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree required OR an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to formulate, develop, write, communicate, and monitor the execution of Territory business plans.
  • Required: Demonstrated history of strong teamwork/collaboration.
  • Required: Strong analytical skills with a track record of applying market/customer insights to inform sales planning and execution; ability to assess customer needs and bring relevant tools/resources to drive performance.
  • Required: Consistently follows and supports company policies.
  • Required: Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards; any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify.
  • Preferred: Rare Disease and/or Specialty Cardiovascular experience and expertise strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: Product launch experience.
  • Preferred: Hospital sales experience.
  • Preferred: Experience calling on large academic centers and hospital systems.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; or an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Skills

  • Advanced selling skills and ability to navigate complex local markets (PSSF or equivalent).
  • Strong ability to develop and execute territory business plans and to tailor brand messaging to customer priorities.
  • Ability to educate customers on ATTR-CM and related diagnostic procedures; build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • In-depth understanding of ATTR-CM disease area and diagnostic procedures; knowledge of Vyndamax profile where applicable.
  • Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams; effective use of approved promotional materials and educational programs.
  • Change agility to adapt in a dynamic marketplace and provide value-driven solutions.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • Valid US driver's license and driving record in compliance with company standards.
  • Non-standard work schedule; 2–3 overnights may be required per month.
