Role Summary

The Area Rare Cardiac Specialist (ARCS) is a field-based role focused on educating healthcare providers in cardiology and related settings to drive ATTR-CM disease awareness and accelerate patient starts. The ARCS collaborates with the Cardiac Account Specialist (CAS) to ensure seamless patient journeys and reports to the Area Business Manager. This role requires strong business acumen to navigate the local healthcare ecosystem while maintaining alignment with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Account Planning & Collaboration: Prioritize customer opportunities and projects to maximize impact; develop territory objectives and KPIs aligned to brand objectives; maintain active customer profiles and data via planning resources; continually refine call planning based on local territory factors and ABM direction.
  • Hybrid Execution / Advanced Selling Skills: Utilize advanced selling skills (e.g., PSSF); operate in complex local markets overlaid by the ARC; tailor approved brand messaging to customer needs; educate customers on ATTR-CM and diagnostic procedures; demonstrate brand value; implement approved educational programs and adapt messaging in changing environments.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with CAS, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to elevate the customer experience; collaborate with Rare Disease ROC members where appropriate.
  • Demonstrates Business Acumen: Proactively gather customer insights and apply market/data to planning; identify opportunities and threats; prioritize resource utilization to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; OR an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate, develop, write, communicate, and monitor the execution of Territory business plans.
  • Demonstrated history of strong teamwork / collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated history of applying market / customer insights to inform sales planning and execution; demonstrated track record of assessing customer (Account and/or HCP) needs and bringing relevant tools / resources to drive performance.
  • Consistently follows and supports company policies.
  • Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards. Any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify you from being hired.
  • Nice-to-Have: Rare Disease and/or Specialty Cardiovascular experience and expertise strongly preferred.
  • Nice-to-Have: Product launch experience preferred.
  • Nice-to-Have: Hospital Sales experience preferred.
  • Nice-to-Have: Experience calling on large academic centers and hospital systems.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • 2-3 overnights may be required per month.
  • Valid US driver's license and driving record in compliance with company standards.
