Role Summary

The Area Business Manager (ABM) leads Pfizer Cardiac Rare Disease sales in the assigned US area, shaping and executing sales strategies for Vyndamax. The role reports to the Rare Cardiac Regional Director and collaborates with customer-facing teams, Brand Marketing, Planning, and HQ partners to ensure continued success. The ABM supervises Rare Disease Rare Cardiac Senior Health & Science Specialists, coaches field teams, and ensures compliant promotional communications. Extensive travel within the area is required.

Responsibilities

  • Staff development of direct reports (8–9 SHSS and field representatives) including hiring, coaching, talent development, and performance management
  • Coordinate with Sales training to ensure adequate training programs; create a high-performing organization through talent planning and career development; develop a change agile organization to deliver results
  • Actively partner with marketing leads and teams to shape brand/customer strategies and initiatives to drive demand and meet customer needs
  • Partner with Brand Marketing to inform annual Operating Planning and Tactical Planning; convey Area customer needs to Brand and HQ teams to design new customer solutions
  • Area Business Planning: develop Area objectives and KPIs aligned to National Sales and Brand objectives; implement insight-driven, integrated and compliant plans at Area/Territory/Account levels; ensure sales forecast and budgets are achieved; support incentive compensation implementation; build a network of physicians and industry contacts
  • Area Business Leadership: accountable for account engagement; manage resource allocation; ensure cross-functional communication to meet local market needs; lead the Area plan execution; maintain technical expertise to respond to questions; understand market trends to coach brand messaging; engage cross-functional teams to execute brand pull-through
  • Partner with Strategy & Operations to monitor area performance and accelerate business results; develop and execute local market and account strategies; analyze data to identify trends; represent area at QBR and manage action items; share insights and develop action plans to improve performance

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: MBA or relevant graduate degree
  • Required: 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience
  • Preferred: Rare Disease and/or Specialty Cardiovascular experience
  • Preferred: Minimum 3 years of District/Area/Regional Manager experience
  • Preferred: Product launch experience
  • Preferred: Hospital Sales experience
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute to deliver results
  • Required: Ability to formulate, develop, write, communicate, and monitor execution of business plans
  • Required: Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
