Area Business Manager, Orange County, CA

Main Responsibilities:
- Grow portfolio share and revenue; consistently deliver on product goals.
- Collaborate with field-based stakeholders (e.g., Medical Science Liaisons, Market Access, strategic account managers, hospital business managers) to proactively address customer needs.
- Use account and territory data and partner with internal data specialists to inform insights that help HCPs operate more effectively.
- Determine optimal ABM strategy for HCPs using agile approaches and leveraging AI and other digital tools.
- Drive results by identifying opportunities and developing strategic business plans to increase product utilization and grow territory business.
- Understand and differentiate portfolio contracting options and competitive offerings via financial presentations.
- Operate according to a buy/bill model, including complex pricing analysis/price calculator usage, product shipping, monitoring contract compliance, and securing contract amendments.
- Plan, organize, and execute local promotional speaker programs and activities.
- Maximize territory budget allocation to execute strategies/tactics and generate/grow business.
- Participate in and help lead sales initiatives (e.g., congresses, local/regional meetings, medical conferences).
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelorโs degree.
- 3+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience with business-to-business knowledge.
- Broad understanding of healthcare environment, decision-making processes, and market trends; proven ability to access decision makers.
- Business-to-business sales success; strong commercial acumen and strategic/critical thinking/problem-solving.
- Ability to navigate a hybrid environment and determine optimal HCP selling model; adjust priorities as circumstances change.
- Agile learner comfortable in complex environments.
- Omnichannel experience and ability to engage customers through appropriate channels using insights.
- Demonstrated data/analytics capability to generate actionable insights.
- Passion for science; proactive learning about disease state, treatment options, and healthcare trends.
- Ability to execute tactical initiatives, provide feedback, and prioritize multiple products.
- Broad field sales experience influencing decision makers.
- Self-directed, organized; excellent execution and planning skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Valid driverโs license, eligibility for insurance coverage, and ability to safely operate a vehicle.
Preferred:
- Graduate degree.
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device sales with business-to-business experience.
- 2+ years account management experience.
- Enhanced digital acumen and strong clinical acumen.
- Experience in Market Access, Pricing, Contracting, or Finance.
- Proficient with MS Office and customer management databases.
