Responsibilities
- Execute launch strategy across a rare disease portfolio by integrating provider reimbursement strategy with patient access and support coordination.
- Serve as regional SME on reimbursement/access; educate provider offices on benefits investigation, prior authorization, appeals, and coverage pathways.
- Identify and compliantly address access barriers in commercial and government payer environments; integrate access processes into provider workflows.
- Provide compliant education on patient support programs; share payer policy trends/field insights with Market Access leadership.
- Provide access/affordability education to consented patients and care partners in line with compliance/privacy; support understanding of reimbursement and available resources.
- Coordinate among hubs, specialty pharmacies, prescriber offices, and support programs; identify/escalate access challenges; onboard and engage consented patients per program rules.
- Provide compliant, de-identified field insights; develop/refine access strategies/tools/materials; participate in cross-functional initiatives; mentor field colleagues.
- Ensure all interactions are compliant/non-promotional; handle PHI per policy.
Required
- Bachelorβs degree.
- 8+ years biotech/pharma with significant reimbursement/market access/patient services/rare disease experience.
- Deep understanding of U.S. payer systems (commercial & government).
- Specialty pharmacy and hub model experience.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements for patient support/access.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based, cross-functional environment.
- >50% domestic travel.
Preferred
- MBA, RN, or advanced clinical/business degree.
- Rare disease experience; both provider reimbursement and patient access program experience.
- Complex health system/specialty center experience.
- Background in cardiology/neurology/pediatrics/other specialty therapeutic areas.
