Application & Platform Security Architect

Role: Application & Platform Security Architect responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security architecture standards within AbbVie’s information security program. Primary objectives include defining reusable security patterns, driving secure-by-design initiatives, and integrating security controls across application development and infrastructure. Responsibilities: collaborate with application teams to ensure secure design, evaluate and recommend security technologies, act as a liaison in security reviews, and foster security best practices through education and policy adherence. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years or Master’s with 8+ years in information security or related fields; deep expertise in application security, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and security frameworks (ISO, NIST). Proven experience in secure SDLC, cloud security, risk assessment, and compliance (SOX, HIPAA). Required skills include knowledge of cryptography, identity & access management, secure coding practices, and threat modeling. Preferred: certifications like CISSP, familiarity with federated identity, incident management, and vulnerability testing.
