Application & Platform Security Architect

Role: Application & Platform Security Architect responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies within AbbVie's IT environment. Primary objectives include defining security policies, creating architecture patterns, and driving secure-by-design initiatives for high-risk applications. Responsibilities encompass collaborating with application development teams to ensure secure design, evaluating application and infrastructure security, guiding security controls implementation, and researching emerging threats and solutions. The role involves acting as a security architecture liaison, advocating for risk-based controls, and embedding security into SDLC and cloud environments. Qualifications: Bachelor's or advanced degrees with 8-9 years of experience in information security, security architecture, or related fields. Must demonstrate expertise in application security principles, cryptography, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and security tools (SonarQube, Nessus). Strong understanding of secure coding practices, identity management (OAuth, SAML), Zero Trust, and compliance standards (SOX, HIPAA) are essential. Preferred qualifications include CISSP or similar certifications, with additional knowledge in federated identity, incident management, and vulnerability testing. The role requires excellent communication, stakeholder influence, and team collaboration skills. High-value specifics include focus on secure application design, cloud security, risk management, and supporting global IT security strategies in a regulated biopharma environment.
