Application Engineer - Defense Segment

Role: Application Engineer specializing in Aerospace & Defense, focusing on supporting defense programs with 3M technologies. Responsibilities include building technical relationships with defense primes, government labs, and military agencies; understanding mission requirements; leading product specification, qualification, and adoption; translating customer needs into product requirements; providing technical support and training; developing growth opportunities within strategic defense accounts; assisting with qualification efforts; and collaborating with internal teams to accelerate product commercialization. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering; minimum 5 years in application engineering, product development, or translating customer needs into technical performance in defense or aerospace environments; knowledge of defense materials, technologies, and industry specifications; experience supporting flight hardware, defense assets, or avionics is preferred. Additional qualifications include advanced degrees, extensive industry experience (up to 10 years), and familiarity with defense material selection, qualification, and verification processes.
