Application Engineer

Role: Application Engineer supporting 3M’s product applications, particularly in electrical and cable accessories, with a focus on technical representation, product development, and customer support. Responsibilities: serve as technical liaison for end users, influence application development through a global network of engineers and scientists, support new product launches by validating customer needs, standards compliance, and product performance, and lead customer interactions to clarify electrical requirements and communicate technical information. Requirements: bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred), experience with Medium Voltage Cable Accessories, understanding of relevant IEEE and IEC standards, and strong communication skills. Preferred qualifications include prior application engineering or customer-facing experience, programming skills (Java, Python, C++), and knowledge of Medium Voltage Cable Theory. High-Value: focus on electrical components, cable accessories, standards compliance, international customer interactions, and on-site work in Austin, TX, with travel up to 25%.
