Animal Technician - Level 2

Role: Animal Technician II supporting translational models for drug safety assessment and development, ensuring compliance with animal welfare and regulatory standards. Responsibilities: perform animal husbandry, handling, restraint, health assessment, cage changing, disinfection, and record-keeping; manage receipt, housing, and identification of animals; maintain facility operations and adhere to GLP and cGMP standards; assist with training peers and ensure quality of daily tasks. Requirements: High School Diploma; ALAT certification; proficiency in animal care, handling, husbandry, and welfare; understanding of GLPs/GMPs; experience with laboratory animal sciences; ability to work independently or in teams. High-Value: role involves working with rodents and large animals in a regulated environment, supporting nonclinical drug safety studies; certification and compliance with animal care standards are essential; no travel or relocation required; shift is daytime. Collaboration is implied within laboratory animal resources and nonclinical safety teams, reporting to a Vivarium manager.
