Role Summary

Analytical Development Scientist located in Cambridge, MA. Provide analytical support to chemistry teams and develop analytical methods for small molecules using HPLC, UHPLC, GC, and potentiometry as part of the synthetic platform within Global CMC Development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop specific and robust analytical methods using HPLC, UHPLC, and GC, and be responsible for validating the methods when necessary
  • Analyze synthetic molecules mainly using the aforementioned techniques
  • Perform quantification studies of impurities and degradants
  • Design and implement analytical strategies for quality control of synthesis intermediates and raw materials
  • Generate technical reports independently
  • Develop effective collaborations within project teams and between analytical groups
  • Share knowledge and experience of analytical method development for synthetic molecules
  • Introduce innovative analytical approaches to facilitate optimal decision-making
  • Represent the analytical group in CMC projects

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Analytical Chemistry or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masterโ€™s degree with 2+ years, or recent PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field. Strong preference for candidates who possess PhD in Analytical Chemistry.
  • Required: Familiarity with the operation of LC and GC from multiple manufacturers
  • Required: Experience in method development using HPLC/UHPLC and GC
  • Required: Experience in analytical method validation
  • Required: Good communications skills
  • Preferred: In-depth understanding of the separation principles of LC and GC
  • Preferred: Demonstrated expertise in chromatography method development and troubleshooting
  • Preferred: Knowledge of QbD concepts, specification setting and cGMP
  • Preferred: Effective communication and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team environment; record of collaboration with scientists and other stakeholders at external enterprises
  • Preferred: Record of patents and publications
  • Preferred: Record of adhering to and promoting lab safety practices
