Role: Analytical Chemist within Vertex’s Analytical Development team, focusing on small molecule drug development programs. Objectives include characterizing drug substances, dispersions, and products, supporting stability assessments, method validation, and resolving development challenges. Responsibilities encompass designing and executing experiments, reviewing data, supporting GMP-compliant method development, troubleshooting laboratory equipment, and collaborating cross-functionally with R&D teams. Qualifications: BS, Master’s, or Ph.D. in life or physical sciences with 0-3 years (Ph.D.), 3+ years (MS), or 6+ years (BS) relevant analytical chemistry experience. Skills include proficiency in HPLC, GC, KF, and knowledge of pharmaceutical analysis, with a preference for GMP experience and understanding of drug development processes. High-Value: Small molecule therapeutics, CMC, analytical chemistry, GMP, stability and characterization, supporting development phases from preclinical to clinical. Worksetup: On-site in Boston, MA, five days per week with some flexibility.
