Clinical Research and Development
Main Responsibilities
- Generate single-cell/single-nucleus RNA-seq libraries (10x Genomics Chromium, multiome ATAC+GEX) from postmortem human brain/spinal cord, iPSC-derived neural cultures, and rodent CNS.
- Perform spatial transcriptomics (10x Atera, Xenium, NanoString GeoMx DSP) and spatial proteomics (CODEX/PhenoCycler, GeoMx protein, imaging mass cytometry) on FFPE and fresh-frozen CNS sections.
- Precision dissection, cryosectioning, and FFPE sectioning of human postmortem CNS tissue; manage biobank inventory, sample QC, and chain-of-custody.
- Multiplex IHC/IF for disease pathology (e.g., TDP-43, tau, Ξ±-synuclein, demyelination markers) and validation of single-cell/spatial findings.
- Operate confocal/widefield/slide-scanning microscopy; capture/curate quantitative neuropathology imaging data.
- First-pass QC and exploratory analysis (Cell Ranger, Space Ranger, Seurat, Scanpy, Squidpy); partner for downstream analysis.
- Develop/optimize SOPs; train junior staff; maintain electronic lab notebooks; present and contribute to publications/posters/patents.
- Coordinate tissue acquisition and assay execution with collaborators/brain banks/CROs (incl. IRB documentation).

Education
- BS with 4+ years OR MS with 2+ years in relevant discipline.

Required/Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on single-cell/single-nucleus RNA-seq prep (10x Genomics Chromium required).
- Hands-on spatial transcriptomics or spatial proteomics platform experience.
- Primary tissue handling with cryosectioning/FFPE; publication-quality histology.
- Immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence and fluorescence microscopy.
- AI/digital neuropathology for automated cell segmentation/tissue classification/quantification (e.g., QuPath, HALO AI, Aiforia, or Python/PyTorch).
- Preferred: R/Python/AI tools for QC and exploratory plots; postmortem CNS + brain bank/IRB; in vivo rodent sampling + molecular assays; neurodegenerative disease background; iPSC neuronal/glial models; industry experience/GLP-adjacent documentation; co-authorship.

Benefits (if applicable)
- Healthcare and prevention/wellness programs; at least 14 weeks’ gender-neutral parental leave.
