AI and Agentic Engineer I

Role: Engineer I - AI and Agentic supports Exelixis' AI initiatives by developing prototype and production-ready agent-based applications to automate enterprise IT and business workflows. Responsibilities: translate ideas into prototypes, evolve them into maintainable code, develop agents connecting LLMs, prompts, tools, and APIs, and execute CI/CD tasks; document architecture and operational procedures; ensure compliance with security, privacy, and responsible AI standards. Requirements: Bachelor's in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field with 1-3 years of experience in AI application development; familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, REST APIs, Git, and software development fundamentals; strong communication skills; quick learner with attention to security and privacy. Preferred: exposure to AWS Cloud, Bedrock, Databricks Mosaic AI, coding agents like Claude Code or Codex, proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript. High-Value: focus on AI-native engineering, agent frameworks, LLMs, automation workflows, no travel expected. Work setup: on-site modern office environment; compensation ranges from $129,000 to $182,000 annually, plus benefits.
