Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the overall design delivery for capital project(s).
- Coordinate all design for the Project Manager during all design phases; deliver conceptual and basic design reviews.
- Direct development of design requirements.
- Assist in development and maintenance of the design schedule.
- Participate in selection of A/E firms.
- Coordinate with A/E firms to develop earned value progress systems to measure progress by discipline.
- Expedite design decisions and coordinate information flow between the design team and system owners.
- Ensure design meets approved intent through interactions with design firms, specialists, Engineering Tech Center disciplines, and end users/customers.
- Provide design governance and resolve design-related problems.
- Identify inefficiencies and develop strategies to improve design hours plan performance.
- Review/approve key design project personnel (internal and external).
- Work with Engineering Tech Center and other technical/constructability resources to address design issues.
- Ensure replication during design when applicable.
- Support Project Manager for value engineering efforts.
- Review design-related invoices prior to approval; participate in KPI reviews/assessments.
- Participate in selection of verification professional services.
- Mentor and develop others.

Basic Requirements:
- BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
- Minimum 12 years of manufacturing and/or engineering experience supporting pharmaceutical or API networks.

Additional Preferences:
- Pharmaceutical process or project engineer experience; strong project management skills.
- Facilitate conflict to resolution; influence all levels of project/site personnel.
- Understanding of capital project delivery and A/E design activities; Lilly technical resources.
- Values consistent with Lilly; frame complex decisions/analyses and implement to plan.
- Create credibility/influence for alignment across stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating issue resolution, anticipating scope changes, and implementing projects safely with quality, speed, value.
- Willingness to relocate and/or travel; ability to work remotely with little supervision; in-office presence 3–4 days/week.

Additional Information:
- Travel ~25% (domestic/international depending on project phase).
- Possible co-location at A/E firm or job site based on project needs.
