Role Summary

The Advisor - Program Manager GFD leads cross-functional teams to deliver large capital asset programs (typically $400M+) in pharma manufacturing facilities, from concept through operational qualification. You will manage asset capability or capacity while ensuring safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectives, coordinating with Lilly and external partners across regional and global sites. The role emphasizes compliance with company policies, effective stakeholder communication, and the ability to work with teams at a distance. Travel and relocation may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead teams to deliver large programs of at least $400M USD or more in capital assets and/or business-critical in nature, from front-end planning (conceptual design) in Brownfield or Greenfield sites through operational qualification (cradle to grave).
  • Interface/Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with GFD leadership, the project team, governance teams, business partners, and other stakeholders; facilitate issue resolution, anticipate scope changes, and implement safely with quality, speed, and value.
  • Compliance: Lead with a disciplined, structured approach to project management based on compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Safety/Environment: Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans; ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies, procedures, and work rules for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors from conceptual design through operational verification.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor of Science – Engineering field or related to project management or equivalent experience.
  • Required: Minimum 10+ years of previous experience in capital project delivery in industrial or manufacturing facilities.

Skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to influence personnel and organizations without having direct administrative responsibility for them.
  • Ability to work from long distances with little supervision.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional team management.
  • Problem-solving, planning, risk management, and LEAN/continuous improvement mindset.
  • Competency in a foreign language(s).

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent technical certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to relocate and/or travel to locations outside of home state/country.
