Job Overview
- Embedded analytical expert within small molecule discovery programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Physicochemical property characterization: Design and execute experiments to measure solubility, pKa, logD/P, stability, Polar Surface Area for NCEs/drug candidates; assess results with other characterization data to guide SAR, bioavailability, formulation, and drug delivery.
- LC-MS method development: Develop/optimize LC-MS methods for purity, identity, and stability (sensitivity, reproducibility, robustness, speed).
- Data analysis & reporting: Process/interpret chromatographic and spectrometric data; present actionable results to cross-functional teams/stakeholders.
- Documentation & compliance: Maintain detailed lab notebooks/reports and properly document protocols, results, and deviations.
- Innovation & continuous learning: Stay current; improve efficiency/techniques and develop new experiments to accelerate the discovery pipeline.
- Cross-functional: Partner with chemists, formulation, ADME/DMPK, computational, and data scientists.
- Integrate purity and stability analyses with global sample management to maintain the compound collection.

Qualifications
- Minimum: PhD in Analytical Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences (or related) with 5+ years, or Master’s with 10+ years hands-on experience with LC-MS, SFC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and physicochemical techniques in small-molecule pharmaceutical discovery.
- Preferred: Proven track record determining physicochemical properties and driving cross-functional impact; experience with ADME/DMPK; analytical data/results management; extensive nominal/high-resolution LC-MS and SFC-MS (Agilent, Waters, Shimadzu) including method development/optimization/troubleshooting; chromatography and MS theory; ADME/DMPK testing strategies; proficiency with MassLynx/ChemStation/Mestrelabs (or similar); workflow enablers (e.g., KNIME) and AI tools; strong communication, analytical problem-solving, independent yet collaborative work, detail orientation, adaptability; ability to influence across organizations.
