Role Summary

Associate Director, Market Access Engagement (Hospital Systems) responsible for executing market access strategies within assigned accounts, focusing on product access, distribution, pricing, discounting, and contracting for Novartis’ oncology and non-oncology portfolio. Serves as Market Access field lead for key accounts and collaborates with cross-functional teams while maintaining compliance. Reports to the Director of Market Access Engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Account Business Goals
    • Execute business-to-business engagement for identified key accounts with site of care leaders, C-Suite, procurement, and financial leaders across accounts
    • Support optimal product access through contracting aligned to strategy
    • Lead structured B2B discussions in assigned accounts and provide reactive cross-functional support for B2B market access discussions
  • Effectively Communicate and Collaborate with Ecosystem Partners (e.g., Customer Engagement, Novartis Patient Support, Field Medical)
    • Optimize relationships and collaboration with ecosystem partners
    • Share insights on customer experience and suggest process improvements
    • Provide insights into market dynamics or competitor activities
  • Ethics and Compliance
    • Comply with laws, regulations, Novartis policies, and ensure others do the same

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in account management, pricing/contracting, patient services, or market access
  • Experience in a matrixed organization and leading without formal authority
  • Experience operating in a highly complex market with interdependencies
  • Market access acumen (formulary decisions, inventory management, clinical pathways, contracting, GPO performance, pull-through, pre-approval delivery, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple tasks, and lead without formal direction

Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional and external stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and ability to drive account-based market access initiatives
  • Knowledge of pricing, contracting, GPOs, 340B, and reimbursement across care sites

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or equivalent preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Overnight travel required; remote and field-based role
