Role Summary

Associate Director, IDS and Data Partnerships at Novartis, remotely within the U.S., focusing on establishing and managing IDS data partnerships to support the US Commercial organization. Oversees existing strategic partnerships to ensure compliance, quality, and effective use of data assets; monitors spends and ensures data standards and regulatory requirements are met. Travel up to 10% as defined by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the organization’s data partnership strategy, including identifying the organization’s critical data needs.
  • Monitor adherence to data quality, security, and compliance standards for all external data sources, platforms, and vendors, ensuring regulatory and internal policy compliance.
  • Collaborate with data vendors and cross-functional teams to address data quality issues and communicate changes.
  • Implement oversight mechanisms for external data partnerships, ensuring compliance with data standards, data-sharing agreements, and internal policies.
  • Implement data stewardship practices across platforms, vendors, and technology solutions, providing performance metrics and governance reports to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, improved governance, and enhanced collaboration across internal teams and external vendors.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 6+ years in establishing and managing data partnerships, including structuring partnership models, leading contract negotiations, and drafting statements of work (SOWs).
  • Strong understanding of external data landscape and vendor ecosystem across diverse data types (claims, EMR, sales data, specialty pharmacy) and appropriate use-cases.
  • Deep understanding of applying external data assets to commercial use-cases, supporting decision-making and analytics.
  • Expert understanding of data partnership principles, frameworks, and best practices, with ability to forge strategic collaborations with external data providers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage risks and ensure data integrity, security, and quality.
  • Ability to influence and drive changes in a complex organizational environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data privacy and security.
