Responsibilities:
- Maximize opportunities for the product portfolio in a single-layer geography by developing and maintaining strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practice.
- Increase patient access to portfolio products (consistent with approved labels), develop and expand business, maximize resource utilization, and achieve geography sales goals.
- Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum; deliver on-label presentations/sales calls using approved data/resources to address therapeutic gaps.
- Differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio value proposition at all account levels (C-suite, physicians, hospital staff, support personnel).
- Problem-solve product and patient flow across Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels; coordinate stakeholders to align on patient-focused solutions.
- Create, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans; determine account/department/channel/HCP focus and frequency; align resources.
- Source, interpret, and utilize account data to maintain account profiles and relationship maps; target key decision makers to expand usage and customer base.
- Attend and participate in local boards/societies/conventions/HCP meetings as appropriate; represent AbbVie/products and share on-label information internally.
- Complete required training and adhere to policies and OEC/Legal procedures; meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain facility entry (may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination).
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (including MSLs and key account teams) to develop compliant communication strategies and account processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; otherwise 5+ years pharmaceutical/health/science industry experience with 3+ years preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Account-based selling experience in hospitals/wound care/infusion; ability to build hospital advocacy and navigate complex/matrix environments (e.g., IDNs, academic institutions).
- Knowledge of formulary approval; experience driving formulary approvals. Buy-and-bill and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Documented strong sales performance; advanced sales skills; ability to communicate complex products simply and overcome customer concerns.
- Strong business acumen, planning/organization, presentation/facilitation, and problem-resolution skills; ability to learn and present complex scientific information.
- Valid driverโs license; ability to travel/cover territory and attend training/sales meetings; ability to drive personal or company vehicle.
- Preferred: success within relevant therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing); English proficiency.
- Ability to satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned territory.
