Position Summary
- Account Manager, US Petcare Division. Utilize solution selling, territory management, and business planning to maximize sales performance in assigned geography (field-based; travel required; some evening work for educational programs). Candidate should live within the territory.
Responsibilities
Sales Performance
- Meet overall sales objectives (quota) and for key growth products via demand generation within targeted geography.
- Launch new products and service offerings; generate new equipment leads.
Selling Skills, Technical Knowledge, and Customer Value Delivery
- Consistently demonstrate solution selling capabilities.
- Build and demonstrate relevant technical knowledge, verbal fluency, and veterinary practice expertise.
- Build effective relationships with and service targeted hospitals/personnel to maintain and grow relevance and access within each account.
- Interact with customers following all promotional guidelines.
Territory Management and Teamwork
- Develop and execute a Territory Business Plan / Resource Allocation; implement full complement of resources and follow up to maximize ROI.
- Meet field activity expectations (sales call activity) and invest in medical education programs.
- Develop and execute a call-cycle at account and veterinarian level to meet reach/frequency expectations.
- Work professionally with colleagues; meet expectations around integrity/compliance, work ethic, role/responsibility, conduct/attire, communication/informing, administrative responsibilities, and teamwork.
Education and Experience (Qualifications)
- Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) required.
- 3-10 years of documented successful consultative sales experience.
- Track record of creatively finding opportunities/solving problems to drive sales performance.
- Ability to use analytics/insights to enhance decision-making and tactical execution.
- Follow-through, attention to detail; manage assigned expense budgets.
- Highly focused, results oriented; identify goals/priorities and resolve issues early.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a close team environment (self-starter).
- Animal health experience and knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine.
- Willingness to accept and incorporate feedback.
Technical Skills Requirements
- Verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Good judgment; thoughtful/fair decisions based on relevant information.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn company systems.
Physical Position Requirements
