Role Summary

The Parkinson’s Disease (PD) Account Executive (AE) is responsible for maximizing business opportunities with approved on-market products for the Parkinson’s Franchise. The AE builds and maintains strategic relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, and organizations to educate on product benefits/risks, identify therapeutic gaps, develop and expand business, and achieve sales targets in the assigned portfolio. The role includes collaboration with advocacy groups and patient organizations to support Parkinson’s patients.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers effective on-label technical and scientific presentations/sales calls utilizing approved data to highlight product benefits/risks and drive sales.
  • Leverages opportunities to understand and address customer needs; builds relationships across accounts and collaborates with in-field and in-house teams to design appropriate tactics.
  • Serves as lead US Commercial contact with targeted accounts in the assigned geography; addresses customer and patient needs with expert knowledge of AbbVie’s environment of care approach.
  • Creates, implements, and communicates strategic and tactical plans for targeted accounts; monitors and reports sales progress; provides routine communications to stakeholders.
  • Attends and participates in local neurology society meetings, conferences, patient programs, support groups, and advocacy events; represents AbbVie and products to educate and build relationships, ensuring on-label discussions within guidance.
  • Develops business strategy and territory/account plans; aligns resources to support tactics and adjusts as needed.
  • Maintains current knowledge on clinical, market, and payer developments related to Parkinson’s Disease.
  • Completes required training and adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Meets HCIR credentialing requirements for entry into facilities in the assigned territory; maintains good standing or eligibility for credentials.
  • Represents AbbVie as a partner of choice with HCPs and patient organizations in the Parkinson’s and Neuroscience space.
  • Drives a personal or company vehicle or operates applicable equipment as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience.
  • Required: 3+ years of health science field or sales experience with at least 2 years in pharmaceutical sales; alternative: 8+ years of health science sales with minimum 4 years in pharmaceutical sales.
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to network and partner effectively across functional areas; excellent organizational and leadership skills; proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Required: HCIR credentialing requirements must be satisfied and maintained; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Required: Ability to satisfy background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprints, and other licenses as required by state/city; take responsibility for HCIR credentialing compliance.
  • Preferred: Parkinson’s, Neuroscience, and/or Specialty pharma with 5+ years of account management experience; high-level performance.
  • Preferred: Specialty pharmacy product/medical device and/or medication pump delivery sales experience; pharma leadership or in-house development experience in training/marketing.
  • Preferred: Pharmaceutical launch experience with complex/novel products; experience educating and partnering with advocacy organizations.
  • Preferred: Consistent top performer with strong sales results in challenging markets; strong business acumen and ability to multitask; advanced sales skills and ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Preferred: Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to build credibility with internal and external stakeholders; experience navigating matrix environments with IDNs, academic institutions, hospitals, and large practices.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated patient-centric approach and comfort with compliant direct patient interactions in various forums.

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to travel as required by the territory and role.
  • Must be able to drive or arrange transportation to conduct field-based activities.
