Role Summary
Account Executive in AbbVie Psychiatry, responsible for managing strategic business relationships with corporate/senior management in key accounts to increase representative access, develop new business, maximize resource utilization, and grow sales and market share of the assigned product. This field-based role requires residence within a reasonable distance of Minnesota City, MN.
Responsibilities
- Work with Federal Account Executive teams to manage and identify key target account opportunities within the VA. Develop product strategies to penetrate these accounts.
- Provide strategic and tactical direction regarding target accounts to regional and district teams within AbbVie’s Psychiatry Retail Franchise.
- Advise sales and marketing management with direction on challenges and opportunities within key target accounts. Analyze and support channel specific training needs within the Region.
- Develop an annual business plan with goals to increase sales volume and market share in target accounts across all FDA approved indications.
- Routinely identify local opportunities and threats and develop/modify business plans accordingly. Anticipate change and address proactively.
- Understand and utilize financial and quantitative data and analyses. Assess business impact of target account opportunities including profitability and sales impact.
- Partner with Field Sales Managers to evaluate and penetrate non-retail account drivers within MSAs.

- The VA
- In-Patient Community Mental Health Centers
- Hospitals
- Drive target account volume and share growth through analysis, providing recommendations and driving execution and pull through of District Managers and representatives.
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field or relevant equivalent industry experience.
- Required: Minimum 2 years sales or account management experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years of Health Science Field or Sales experience with at least 2 years in pharmaceutical sales. If no degree, 8+ years of Health Science Sales with at least 4 years in pharmaceutical sales.
- Required: Demonstrated ability to network and partner effectively across functional areas.
- Required: Excellent organizational/project management and leadership skills; proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex environments.
- Required: Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials.
- Note: HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses. Responsibility to satisfy all HCIR requirements.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
Additional Requirements
- HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials.
- Possession or eligibility to obtain required licenses, background checks, drug screens, immunizations as applicable.
